    Don Ward talks to journalist Peter Flax about the October 15-17 California Bicycle Summit, where Flax spoke on a panel about how to “communicate beyond the bicyclist community to win support for politically challenging projects.” Peter Flax compares the summit crowd to that at the October 5th anti-bike, pro-car “Keep LA Moving” conference– funded by right wing groups like Reason Foundation. Flax discusses the Q+A he had with John Forester, the “godfather” of vehicular cycling, who opposes all bike infrastructure yet told the conference goers they (drivers who oppose sharing the road) were the reason we need bike infrastructure.

  • Clean E Bikes for All

    Senator Tom Umberg (D-Santa Ana) and Calbike Senior Policy Advocate Linda Khamoushian discuss the “E-Bikes for Mobility” bill (now law), SB 400. The bill (law) expands the “Clean Cars For All” program that gave vouchers toward electric cars for older, dirty-emissions car trade-ins. SB 400 allows vouchers for electric bikes, as well.
