A Tale of Two Summits and a Badass Boomer Biker

Don Ward talks to journalist Peter Flax about the October 15-17 California Bicycle Summit, where Flax spoke on a panel about how to “communicate beyond the bicyclist community to win support for politically challenging projects.” Peter Flax compares the summit crowd to that at the October 5th anti-bike, pro-car “Keep LA Moving” conference– funded by right wing groups like Reason Foundation. Flax discusses the Q+A he had with John Forester, the “godfather” of vehicular cycling, who opposes all bike infrastructure yet told the conference goers they (drivers who oppose sharing the road) were the reason we need bike infrastructure.
Also, “bad-ass” Joni Yung on riding all the time as a not super young person.
