The USDOT/FHWA removed  bike lanes, road diets, and speed management tools that have been shown to reduce traffic injuries and fatalities from their list of Proven Safety Countermeasures on USDOT/FHWA sites. Is the administration anti-safety? Of course, as League of American Bicyclists Deputy Executive Director Caron Whitaker explains, the Proven Safety Countermeasures’ removal by USDOT does not change the fact that they make roads safer.
