Eric Garcetti on Bikes in 2009

In 2009, then-Councilmember Eric came down to Santee High School’s gym to talk with Nick Richert, ELA teacher/coach, with a posse of his CD13 staff. This showed how important bikes are to him–in part because, as he says here, “the bicycle community is probably the best organized political group in the city–after homeowners.” I’m putting this up as cycling advocates and groups like Bike the Vote are wondering if he’s stood up enough for cyclists, as we go to vote on March 7th.
