Internship

Bike Talk and the Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition are seeking bike advocates with an interest in journalism, who see the value in promoting bike advocacy and having their work disseminated on radio and online, to produce and report bike stories and interviews. This will happen remotely, at KPFK in Los Angeles, the MassBike Boston office, or from the field. Produced content will stream at our 3 radio stations in Massachusetts and California, on the Biketalk.org website, and at any of the 200 Pacifica stations to which Bike Talk is syndicated in the future.

We would like to offer interns who demonstrate the ability to produce stories or interviews a modest stipend of $1 for each edited minute. Segments are typically just under 20 minutes, so that would be about $20 per edited piece.

The Mission of Bike Talk is to amplify the voices of people who advocate for the bicycle as transportation, and to highlight the impacts of bike infrastructure and multimodal transportation with regard to livability, environmental sustainability, public health, community, equity, and joy.

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.
